In Malaysia, \u2018Lemuni Hitam\u2019 is commonly known in the northern region and widely used in preparing \u2018Nasi Lemuni\u2019 and also well-known among certain people who know the benefits of this plant traditionally. This plant have a great potential for producing antioxidant and antimicrobial compounds as it contains phenolics and flavanoids. Therefore, \u2018lemuni hitam\u2019 leaves are used in this investigation to determine whether it can be used as a natural antiseptic. This plant can benefit us, as an alternative natural antioxidants, as in making \u2018lemuni tea\u2019, capsules widely used in preparing \u201cNasi Lemuni\u201d and as a natural antiseptic solution.
