Abstract: Waste drainage collection is one of the main issues faced by the developing countries. An excessive amount of waste production in Malaysia is due to some unacceptable behaviour from the public which can lead to environmental pollution. Apart from that, the waste produced will cause the drainage flow to become narrow and eventually caused blockage to the drainage system. Hence, a new product is designed to mitigate the issues regarding the waste drainage collection. TST 101 Smart Drainage Collector utilises a revolutionary new approach to drainage collection method. The main objective of this product is to filter and collect the waste from the drainage and public sewer before entering the river. This product is designed to be fully automated to ensure all the debris can be collected and filtered most of the time and it will be installed at the drainage outlet and public sewer. It is mainly operated by the DC motor to move the roller chain that connects the two sprockets together to enable the waste to be collected by the container which is attached to the roller chain. Since the product operated using DC motor, it also can be generated by solar power to reduce the energy consumption. It is expected that the product can facilitate the authorities to avoid future blockage in the drainage system. Moreover, this product is expected to be commercialised by the government as one of the initiatives to protect the environment from pollution.
