Abstract: EZ Lightboard is a solution for recording instructional videos where the focus is on writing and drawing at anytime and anywhere. The goal is to design a low cost lightboard that is less fussy, easy set up, easy store and also portable. This could be an advanced teaching aids that can facilitate online distance learning while bringing in the traditional chalk-and-talk method of lecturing in an interesting way! Our EZ Lightboard are designed as a pane of acrylic plexiglass with a dimension of 50cm x 60cm with a stand and a strip of LED lights are placed along the bottom and at the top of screen that illuminate dry erase markers to make writing highly visible on camera. The all-in-one portable studio set up package comes with black T-shirt, black cloth backdrop, microfiber eraser and neon dry erase marker. It is a portable complete studio, you can easily set up anywhere you prefer. User just need to record their instruction in the manner to which they are already accustomed using a dry erase marker on the acrylic screen as they are captured with a camera on the other side of the screen. The video is mirror-flipped using computer software so the handwriting appears correct to those watching the video. The black backdrop is use for the studio so that the lightboard text appears most vividly over dark backgrounds. Since the video frames are reversed, text on the clothes will appear backwards, which can be distracting for viewers, so wearing a plain dark shirt is recommended. This is the innovation from a commercial lightboard studio room which requires high cost material, heavy lightboard screen, expensive gadget, fixed studio and a special dark room. Our EZ lightboard is a portable complete studio, lightweight, you can easily set up anywhere you prefer. EZ lightboard studio is low cost and affordable to all.
