Abstract: Transportation especially cars is vital in our daily lives. The high number of vehicles on the road not only have caused the increasing number of road accidents but also contributed to the unwanted tragedy once the car has been parked. There were many cases of children abandoned at the back seat of the car which brought to death cases. Besides, there were death cases of adult who were sleeping inside the car with the engine was still on which had caused to the carbon monoxide poisoning. Then, the increasing number of toddlers and babies were locked inside the car automatically when their parents had left them alone. These situations have contributed to the idea of designing the Vehicle Alert System (VAS) project in order to help the vehicle consumers. This system is designed to detect an object or a person at the back seat and it will send a notification to the parents or drivers via Telegram application if they forget someone is left inside the car. The system also can detect a gas leaking into the car while the engine is still on. The buzzer will beep and the window opens automatically once it detects the high amount of carbon monoxide inside the car. Other than that, the system is able to unlock the car from inside once the driver sends a message to the telegram and even the phone is inside the car, they can use any mobile phones and send through SMS (short message service) to the system. First, the benefit of the system is believed to give a huge impact to the community since it can help to decline the number of deaths among children. Parents are automatically be alarmed once they leave their cars with the kids inside. Next, the system is able to open the window automatically once it detects over heating which can cause to heat stroke. This helps to reduce the temperature and oxygen able to get inside the car while the alarm gets the attention of people. Second, the tired driver or passenger has no more worries if they fall asleep inside the car especially at night because the system helps to give alarm, open the window and stop the engine once it detects the carbon monoxide as well as waking up the driver or passenger from their sleep. Third, VAS is also able to avoid something bad happen to the trapped kids and save the cost from damaging the car or pay for the service to unlock it. The system able to unlock the door by sending a message through telegram or SMS just by using mobile phone.
