Abstract: Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) is one of occupational health problem that always effects workers and society. Musculoskeletal disorders are damages or disorders of muscles, nerves, tendons, joints, cartilage, and intervertebral discs. MSDs occurs when wrong posture or lack tools that make the posture worsen while lifting the heavy items. Nowadays, Malaysia’s development is on the growth economy towards industrialization and advanced technologies which resulted MSDs cases also are on rise along with an increase in the regular age of workers. The objective of this study is to reduce the rate of patients suffering MSDs, to ease workers, housewives or children in lifting heavy items with efficient time, and cost effective. Therefore, a portable forklift has been invented with the name ‘FORKLIFT X20 PRO’. This product was design using linear actuator, rechargeable battery and mild metal which contribute to many advantages such as light, easy to use and suitable for all type of shape items. This product is able to be commercialized to community especially for the workers, housewives and children. The use of this product is also able to reduce the rate of patients who suffering MSDs and also prevent others from this illness.
