Abstract: Network security has become crucial requirement and necessity in network where devices are connected and can be access easily anytime and anywhere. Deployment of defense mechanism is important to have better security. There are few defense mechanisms that can be deployed into the network such as honeypot. Most of the honeypot are static which mean only one service is installed on the device. Some honeypot is costly to build and maintain. Human intervention is needed to change the honeypot service from time to time. This project aims to creating cost efficient decoy-based technology, honeypot together with Raspberry Pi to enhance network security by emulation vulnerabilities. The honeypot runs on Ubuntu, a Linux distribution with multiple services installed. These services take turn to run using Cron daemon set by the network administrator and no manual changes of the service need to be made. This created efficiency in handling the honeypot. By evaluating the CPU performance, Raspberry Pi able to become a honeypot with multiple services installed and emulate the services from time-to-time basis.
