Abstract: Pulau Tuba is one of the many islands in Langkawi. However, the information on the spatial variation of Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) over the coastal water of Pulau Tuba is inadequate Consequently, MOSIW map is developed for monitoring solids in surface water of Pulau Tuba, Langkawi. This invention used the integration of Geographic Information System (GIS) as a medium to interpret the data into a clearer, uniformed visual that will convey the distribution pattern of TDS and TSS. MOSIW map shows pattern and distribution of parameters effectively. MOSIW Map can be used by communities such as local people that lived at Pulau Tuba, concerned government bodies such as Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), Department of Environment (DOE Malaysia) and Department of Fisheries (DOF Malaysia) to monitor this area effectively. This invention is found to be useful as it supports Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG 14: Life below water) which is to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
