AN INNOVATION ON THEORITICAL GAP ON ONLINE DISTANCE LEARNING (ODL) AS LEARNING MECHANISM DURING COVID-19: A MODIFIED THEORY OF ACCEPTANCE AND USE OF TECHNOLOGY (UTAUT) MODEL

Abstract: This study invented a theoretical gap on online distance learning and clarify the key factors Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) students’ Behavior Intention (BI) to use online distance learning (ODL) as in recommended by Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia during movement control order (MCO). A conceptual model was developed from UTAUT model by integrating two added new predictor variables (technology readiness and perceived credibility) which both were supportive in the result. Data were collected from 181 participants with experience in using online distance learning (ODL). The results shown a high consistency and reliability, thereby demonstrating that the proposed model holds substantial a new explanatory in online distance learning mechanism. This study revealed that technology readiness is a key factor that significantly influences Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) student’s BIs toward using online distance learning (ODL).).
